iPad Hong Kong Release Date – 23 July Friday
Apple proclaimed on Monday that the iPad Hong Kong will be release on Friday, July 23. Both the Wi-Fi and 3G models will be available in Hong Kong at launch, but has not announced pre-orders for either model. Instead, customers will have to line up on launch day to get their hands on Apple’s popular tablet gadget. notwithstanding in countries like Australia, preorders for the iPad are avaliable days prior to the actual launch date. Apple also did not announce any appointed pricing for the new iPad regions.
Apple said in its announcement on Monday that is also plans on releasing the iPad to “many more countries” throughout 2010. So expect to hear more announcements including local pricing and availability in the coming months. The iPad is already available in the U.S. and Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K.
In May, Apple said it had sold two million iPads during the first 60 days of the tablet device’s availability in the U.S. and other countries more or less the world. The company has not announced iPad gross revenue since then, but that is likely to change on Tuesday when Apple announces its third quarter financial results for 2010.
Monday’s announcement by Apple comes as the company tries to moves past the recent iPhone 4 antenna debacle that has tarnished the company’s image over the past few weeks. On Friday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that any iPhone 4 customers experiencing signal loss would be provided a $30 bumper case free of charge to solve the iPhone 4 antenna issue. As an alternative, new iPhone 4 owners may also return their phones to Apple for a full quittance. Both offers will pass away on September 30, but they could be extended if Apple deems it necessary. Apple also reiterated on Friday that it plans on launching the iPhone 4 in 17 more countries by the end of July.
Can Frash Become The Answer To Flash On iPad?
Frash iPad is created by an enterprising developer who has proved that with a little work, Adobe Flash will work just fine on the iPad and iPhone, as long as you’re comfortable jailbreaking your device. Yes you will have problems–Flash is intended for use with a mouse, and not touch-based input methods. But certainly it gives hope that enterprising developers can be able to force Apple’s hand.
Just a few months ago, it was reported that the GPU unit that Apple baked into its A4 chip powering the iPad lacks full OpenGL ES 2.0 support, a major problem for games and allegedly the cause why the tablet won’t run Flash Player 10.1.
Frash iPad will work in Safari Mobile through a compatibility layer. The programme is actually a port of the official Adobe Flash plug-in that is already available for Android devices. Performance is actually pretty decent–sorry Mr. Jobs, there goes your trademark excuse for not allowing Flash at all.
Frash will currently only run on the iPad, but there are plans to port it to the iPhone as well. Only the 3GS and iPhone 4 would be supported, obviously for performance reasons.
A user named Xuzz149 posted a video regarding this on YouTube with a verbal description which states – “Frash uses a multi-process model similar to Chrome on the desktop, so a bust up in the Frash/Flash plugin doesn’t take down the browser. You can see this while I’m playing Alien Hominid: the ad above crashed (probably a Frash bug), but Safari stays open just fine, and continues to play other Flash content on the page.”
Initially, video and keyboard input won’t be supported but it would be worked upon later on.
These enthusiastic developers have found a workaround for getting Flash on to the iPad and iPhones as well. Hold on your devices for a stable release of Frash iPad.
Cross your fingers they get it to work, and hopefully force Apple to tear down that wall.
